Last week in Davis....

Here is to online web-blogging...let the excitment begin!

So the time finally came when I had to leave Davis and beautiful California to embark on my German adventure. My last week in Davis was great, filled with good friends and an exciting night out in Sacramento. The night out in Sac was appropriately entitled "One Night Only" (thank you Beyonce!). The evening began with good wine and company in my apartment before we headed out to the Merc.

The Merc is probably one of the greatest 'Dive' bars in Sacramento, and I am making it my mission to find a bar of equal caliber in Frankfurt or Berlin. And trust me, that is a lot to ask for!! As always the Merc lived up to its reputation, providing cheap drinks and a delightfully uplifting clientele.

After the Merc it was off to Badlands for great music and dancing. Everyone was out on the dance floor. Scott held his own with Conor and me and even Jonas was breaking some hearts..... how could you Jonas?!?!? Thank you to everyone who came out that night. I had such a great time.

The rest of the week my week was spent packing up the apartment and moving all my stuff to my parents' garage. On Wed night some friends and I met up for drinks at Little Prague. What would my last week be without a trip to the local bar that provided so many great evenings of cheap beer and sausage. Ahhh memories. After Little Prague Conor, Sarvi and I went out to eat at Bistro 33. Good times good times.

On Thursday I boarded a jet plane and left for Washington D.C. to visit my brother and new niece for a few days before I leave for Germany next Wednesday. I also just bought Harry Potter book 7 today which is very exciting. I was trying to hold out until I got to Germany so that I could read it in German, but I decided that I will just have to read books 1-7 in German over the next year instead. Hopefully that will help out my German a lot.

Ok, I am off to eat dinner with my brother and his wife. I will write more before I leave this great country...I hope!
